Ministry of Earth Sciences Hosts National Media Interaction on 'Mission Mausam' The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) held a national-level media interaction on the ambitious Mission Mausam at Prithvi Bhavan, New Delhi. The session was led by Dr. M Ravichandran, Secretary of MoES, alongside Dr. Mritunjay Mohapatra, Director General of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), and Dr. V.S. Prasad, Head of the National Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF). Approved by the Union Cabinet on September 11, 2024, with a budget of ₹2,000 crores over two years, Mission Mausam aims to transform India into a "Weather-Ready" and "Climate-Smart" nation. Apraava Energy Private Limited Acquires Rajasthan IV-A Power Transmission from RECPDCL

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Limited, under the Ministry of Power, has successfully handed over a project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), Rajasthan IV-A Power Transmission Limited, to Apraava Energy Private Limited (AEPL). This significant transfer marks a crucial step in enhancing the power infrastructure in the region, as the project will enable the efficient evacuation of power from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone Phase IV, encompassing the Jaisalmer and Barmer complexes.

Apraava Energy Private Limited (AEPL) was selected as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) through a Tariff-based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process, managed by RECPDCL. The project, developed on a Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis, is set to strengthen the transmission network by constructing a 765/400 kV, 4x1500 MVA, and 400/220 kV, 5x500 MVA Pooling Station at Fatehgarh-IV, along with a 184.56 km 400 kV transmission line and other associated works.

The handover ceremony saw Shri T.S.C. Bosh, CEO of RECPDCL, pass the reins to Mr. Naveen Munjal, Director (Business Development) at AEPL, in the presence of senior officials from RECPDCL, AEPL, and the Central Transmission Utility of India Limited. The project is slated for completion within two years, promising to significantly boost renewable energy integration in the region.
