GAIL (India) Limited has teamed up with Petron Scientech Inc. (Petron) to explore the development of a groundbreaking 500 Kilo Tons per Annum (KTA) bio-ethylene plant in India. This ambitious project, a 50:50 joint venture, will focus on producing bio-ethylene from bioethanol, marking a significant step toward sustainable industrial practices in the country.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Sumit Kishore, Executive Director (Business Development and Exploration & Production) at GAIL, and Yogi Sarin, CEO of Petron, in the presence of GAIL's Director of Business Development, Shri Rajeev Kumar Singhal.
Under the MoU, GAIL and Petron will collaborate on feasibility studies to assess both the technical and financial viability of the project. The goal is to secure investment approvals from their respective management teams and form a joint venture company to bring this innovative project to life.
